The peninsula is a movie that gives life to our worst nightmares! With horror and adventure creeping in, it will leave your mind blown!

The Peninsula is a 2020 horror action movie. It is a follow up to the 2016 blockbuster, Train to Busan. The movie Train to Busan surely hyped up its audience when the second sequence came out. But did the second sequence satisfy the expectations of the audience? Well, let us dive into the movie’s drawbacks and benefits. The storyline involves several strangers trespassing into an infected area in search of the 20 million dollars. This 20 million dollar is placed behind enemy lines back on the Korean Peninsula and hence the appropriate title! The film is fashioned of gun battles and club fights between zombies and prisoners that places the audiences at the edge of their seats. The director and co-writer, Yeon Sang-ho was well appreciated for the uniqueness he attempts to lead within each sequence!

The movie begins with an outbreak on a ship. Even though this scene leaves the audience in horror, it promises the excitement they are looking for in the movie! Later on, comes the scene where the protagonists try to bust into the infected area for the 20 million. Okay, so now we picture a zombie heist. Could the movie be more interesting! As the movie proceeds, we see zombie attacks, car hunts, running, and chasing! This element with the environmental settings leaves the viewer’s mind blown. An added significant portion of the movie is its animation. We see how the director, Yeon Sang-ho has sought to design a setup that makes the audience perceive that they are watching their zombie video games (such as Call of duty and zombie nation) come to life! Another well-appreciated component is how they have attempted to make a fiction tale appear so realistic. The movie itself is put forth in a fashion where anyone who would refuse to believe in zombies would conclude that a zombie outbreak could be possible! And this factor of the movie is what lead to its wide prevalence! But like every other film, the benefits come with their disadvantages.

So what are the major drawbacks of this movie? The movie Peninsula was drenched in Hollywood cliché. This was one primary drawback of the movie. While most Korean movies have their fashion and uniqueness in formulating films, the Peninsula strives hard to mimic Hollywood movies. Another disappointment was the imprecision of the storyline. There was no character background nor a well-structured narration. Part one, that is, a train to Busan had a depth of emotions in characters who played vital roles that enabled the audience to correlate. The second movie, The Peninsula was bland and lacked communication and connectivity that left most of their audience confused.

So, the final question, is the movie, Train to Busan presents: The Peninsula worth the time? I will leave this question to you! Despite the drawbacks, the director did succeed in keeping up the tone though the story was a lot different from the first one. It did retain up some requisite components of the first part. The movie is entertaining. For any zombie movie lovers, it is an assured recommendation!
